A military story...and a love story, too! Battle of the WAC is a true story about one of the more than 400,000 young American women who served their country during World War II. The story deals with the frustrations, the decisions, the work, the embarrassments, and the struggle to be accepted by the male soldiers, even in a veteran's hospital 40 years later. Also included is a tender love story covering those bittersweet years when planning for the future seemed nearly impossible, and a soldier's life during the battle of the bulge where he was wounded during a terrifying night while serving as the leader of a reconnaissance troop. The dates are historically correct; the events actually took place, although names of some of the participants have been changed, as indicated.
