The best history is the one that gives the most and best ì facts relative to the subject in hand, clearly and simply, ì shedding on them, as near as may be done, the light that shone on ì them when they came into existence. That is the ideal that has ì been striven for in the compilation of this work. Therefore it ì was not sought to make it excel as a "literary gem", still we ì believe the "style" is sufficiently plain so that the reader will ì understand what is being talked about.
